It’s become a truism to say that we live in a fast-paced world. But even the most ardent technophiles like me, can still be surprised by the daily advancements and dazzling developments. And while it’s amazing inventions that capture the imagination and hit the headlines, it’s the way that technology is used and applied in imaginative ways which has the potential to change our lives. The new Ipod stethoscope, for example, can be used to train doctors in recognising specific arrhythmia, or to record heartbeats for diagnostic purposes. It brings a whole new meaning to the song ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’.
